On August 3rd the House Small Business Committee sent a letter to the Trump Administration requesting the appointment of a Chief Counsel for Advocacy at the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Office of Advocacy is the "independent voice for small business within the federal government, the watchdog for the Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA) and the source for small business statistics." The Chief Counsel leads this office, ensuring that federal agencies and departments are in compliance with regulatory guidelines that promote small business engagement. The Committee believes the effectiveness of the Office of Advocacy will play a key role in the economic growth of our nation's small business community.
