Money, Black Men & Power

The U.S. Black Chambers Inc. (USBC) will accompany 20 black men to acquire individual bank account(s) with Industrial Bank-- one of the nation's most prestigious Black-owned banks.
Washington, DC- On Monday, The U.S. Black Chambers Inc. (USBC) will accompany 20 black men to acquire individual bank account(s) with Industrial Bank-- one of the nation's most prestigious Black-owned banks. The cohort of 20 black men are a part of the USBC's Black Male Entrepreneurship Institute (BME). As a group, the men of BME made the decision to acquire individual bank accounts as the first step in keeping Black dollars circulated in the Black business community

"Our young Black men are taking practical yet substantive steps in leveraging their intellect, business acumen, and financial resources for the greater good of the Black business community." said USBC CEO Ron Busby Sr.

"Monday will be momentous as we begin to re-engineer how black entrepreneurs, both male and female, strategize their approach to starting businesses. The first step in the process of entrepreneurship for blacks should be that they open an account at a black owned bank. I'm honored as the Co-Founder of the BME Institute, to lead this effort." said BME Co-Founder Howard Jean.

"There is increased strength, opportunity, and sustainability in intentionally seeking success in one's business through supporting another's. This first cohort's investment in Industrial Bank is proof of that fact." said Keith Benjamin, BME Co-Founder.

USBC continues to impact the growth of Black-owned businesses. Through the USBC's Black Male Entrepreneurship Institute, participating young black men have access to resources and support to help sustain their businesses. USBC has launched an ongoing fundraising effort to fund the Black Male Entrepreneurship Institute and encourages advocates, influencers and leaders to take part in ensuring young black men are provided with the financial resources to compete against disproportionate access to capital.
